Following the arrest of the four, Cyberbad police killed veterinary doctor P Disha(26), who found her burnt body within 24 hours near Chantanpalli village of Under Construction Bridge nearer to the ORR in Shamshabad.
According to the report, the lorry driver, cleaner and two others – all aged between 20 and 25 – have been arrested for raping and murdering the victim. It is said that this was a premeditated rape and murder and that they were keeping a close watch on her movements. Her vehicle, which she parked near the Tondupalli Toll Plaza, was deliberately punctured and she was unwittingly trapped by them.
Under the supervision of Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar, Shamshabad DCP N Prakash Reddy set up 15 special teams to solve the case. They collected footage from surveillance cameras near the toll gate and the stretch between the Hyderabad-Bangalore National Highway. Two videos of Disha show her riding towards the toll gate alone, the other videos showed that she was talking to an unidentified man.
Cyberabad police also seized the victim’s inner clothes, shoes and liquor bottle near the toll plaza where Disha Reddy parked her two-wheeler.
According to details, the four drunken men took her by force at about 9:40 pm, after she made the last call to her sister Bhavya Reddy. According to postmortem reports, she was raped and tortured before she was strangled to death in the empty land behind the Tondupalli toll plaza at Outer Ring Road in Shamshabad.
They took the body and her two-wheeler in the lorry. They removed the license plates and left the vehicle about 40 km from the site, knowing that the Chattanpally Under Bridge, near the town of Shadnagar in Rangareddy district, will be dark and no one would be around. They then wrapped her body in a bedsheet, poured kerosene and burned her. They left the body there and escaped.
Police revealed that the driver of the lorry is Mohammed Pasha of Narayanpet in Mahabubnagar district and he is the prime accused in the case.
