With the TSRTC strike entering 39 days, employees are facing serious financial difficulties and failing to keep up with monthly commitments such as rent payments, school fees, daily necessities and others.
Some of them are taking extreme measures because they cannot face the current situation.
However, the conductor of TSRTC took this as a challenge and dressed it as a hair salon in his town for his livelihood. Mahipal hairdressers belong to the community of Kathli village of Ratnapur in Nirmal Rural Zone. Before he joined TSRTC, he was running a salon in Nirmal. After the RTC JAC called for an indefinite strike, he joined the strike along with other employees. After the employees failed to get two months’ salary, he decided to take up his family business again.
“Whenever I have some co-operation, I get along with my co-workers and even meet at the depot when I get some rest at the salon shop,” Mahipal said.
