Nungambakkam Murder case Finally Accused arrested

This was the sensational case in recent days, Murder of Infosys employee S. Swathi at Nungambakkam Railway station in the previous week. finally police arrested the suspected killer in the late hours on Friday in Tirunelveli belongs to southern Tamil Nadu.

The was Made public by the police officer who is part of investigating team, he aforesaid that the accused is Mr. Ramkumar and he is engineering graduate of 22 years from meenakshipuram. apart from this when the police arrived to arrest him he tried to kill himself with a knife and cut his throat and meanwhile the police immediately took him to the near by government hospital in tenkasi and he sustained 60% injury during this and doctors said he is safe all the way. Later police shifted him to Government medical college hospital in Tirunelveli, After examination doctors said the condition is not serious and after little minor procedures he will be shifted to Intensive care unit and later can be interrogated.

This is considered to be the biggest manhunt by the Tamil Nadu Police as the suspect has moved away from the place and tried to hide. Police said that the accused stayed at Choolaimedu, where Swathi too lived with her parents.


More than 100 policemen were assigned to finish this investigation, local police took the support of Crime Branch CID for the technical support and moved further on investigation very fastly.

Police have collected numerous CCTV footages and came to a primary conclusion about the suspect and meanwhile police also conducted a door to door operation in identifying  the suspect.


Chennai Commissioner of Police T.K Rajendra had formed a special team to investigate the case. 10 teams with 10 members each headed by additional commissioners and joint commissioners participated in the investigation and railway police too indirectly supported in the manhunt.

This investigation would have been so better if there are CCTV cameras in the railway station. Things would be so easy in the investigation.
