MG Motor India Private Limited, the iconic British car maker now owned by China’s SAIC Motor Corporation Limited, today unveiled its MG Hector SUV. It Starts from 12.18 lakhs, Hector comes in four variants – Style, Super, Smart and Sharp and comes in a total of 11 configurations. The SUV will take the Mahindra XUV500, Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta and the upcoming Kia Cellos.MG Hector price in India.

MG Hector: Specifications

Hector is available in petrol, diesel and hybrid options. The 1.5-liter turbo-charged petrol engine delivers 143 PS of power at 250 Nm of peak torque and is available in both manual and automatic transmissions. Its 2.0-liter diesel engine delivers 170 PS with a top-of-the-class fuel economy with a maximum torque of 350 pms. The 48V hybrid option with the petrol variant is only available in the 6-speed manual gearbox.

Hector’s USP includes its ISmart Next Gen technology, which includes embedded connectivity solutions, maps and navigation services, voice assistants, pre-loaded infotainment content, emergency and information services, and built-in applications. It comes with an embedded M2M SIM which ensures that the car is connected.

Users can interact with the technology through a 7-inch colour MID and a 10.4-inch HD Central touchscreen system.

Other features include a 4-way power adjustable co-driver seat, 2nd-row seat recline, fatigue reminder setting, powered tailgate opening, dual-pane panoramic sunroof and eight-colour ambient lighting.

The company has set up a customer service centre called Pulse Hub. This allows eCall emergency response on all MG cars. If the car’s airbags are fitted in case of emergency, automatic messages are sent to the pulse hub and registered phone, and the instant response action is instantly activated. MG Hector also provides the first Icall to the industry.

Hector can do five seats and comes with a 587-liter boot.

The outgoing SUV features chrome accents around the front grille, LED LED headlamps with split LED headlamps and LED fog lamps.

It comes in five colour options — Starry Black, Coloured Glaze Red, Burgundy Red, Aurora Silver and Candy White.

Rajiv Chaba, President and Managing Director of MG Motors India Pvt. Hector is offering a 5-year warranty for unlimited kilometers, 5-year roadside assistance for unlimited kilometres and a “555 service plan” that includes 5 labour-free services.
