Telangana Prisons Department, that brought several reforms in jails across the State, has achieved another milestone. The death rate of prisoners has fallen drastically, due to the Prisons Department for according prime priority to health care of prisoners besides taking measures to supply employment for them once releasing from jails.

According to the Telangana Prisons Department statistics, a complete of fifty six prisoners died in several jails of the State in 2014. However, in 2018, solely eight jail inmates died until date.
This was possible solely due to the priority given to inmates’ health. Labs were established in central jails for finishing up medical examinations on its inmates, whereas inmates of district and different prisons were being mentioned district hospitals for health checkups.

So far, 2 job melas were organized. Out the seventy seven released prisoners, forty three were selected for numerous posts during a job mela held in April. a complete of 228 persons attended another mela held in Hyderabad on October 3rd. Some 122 joined in various jobs of the 132 persons selected.

Department goes to organize another mela within the 1st week of January in Warangal. Prisoners belonging to Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam district can participate.
