Banglore: Bharathi Veerath, First Woman Cab Driver, Found Dead

Bengaluru: Bharathi Veerath, who was in the headlines 2 years ago once she became the first and foremost  girl cab driver in Bengaluru, was, on Monday found hanging at her home where she used to  live alone. though her death is being speculated as a suicide, no suicide letter has been found.

“It seems to be a case of suicide, because the victim’s (V. Bharathi) body was found hanging by a cloth-like rope from the ceiling of her room by her landholder on Monday night,” the police added.

Bharti’s body was found by her landholder who also conveyed to police that Bharti had planned to relocate to Andhra Pradesh presently. Veerath had moved to bengalore 10 years ago.

“The landholder visited the third floor of his house wherever Bharathi was staying within the rented portion to envision her whereabouts as he failed to see her since Sunday night and located her body hanging through the room’s window and alerted us,” police added.

She had bought a brand new Ford Fiesta, and had dreamt of owning a Mercedes benz  some day. Last year, she had told Quartz India that she was thinking of getting married soon.

Why Bharathi took this extreme step is still unknown. A case of suicide has been registered.
