A driver has been arrested by Chilkalguda police for stealing a Rs 92 lakh cash and Bolero vehicle belonging to an ATM Cash dispencing Company.
In an audacious robbery case, a driver working in a cash-filling company was found guilty of misappropriation of Rs.92 lakhs, However, after receiving the complaint, the police took action and the accused were arrested on Tuesday after checking nearly 500 CCTV footage in 36 hours.
The accused, identified as D Prakash, was arrested by police from his residence in Nagole and Rs 90 lakh was recovered from him. Prakash was hired by Five Star Facility (India) Pvt Ltd in August last year. He was attached to serve the SIPL Company at Bowenpally Diamond Point. Through SIPL he started driving for CMS Info System Limited.
The accused is planning to commit the crime
The accused had devised a scheme to steal cash from the bank. Finding a suitable moment, on March 16, he hid his identity by wearing a hat and wrapping a napkin around his face. One of the employees of the Five Star Security Service, Rakesh, contacted the security guard who introduced himself. The guard gave him a vehicle key and then proceeded to transport the accused from SBI’s Koti Branch to SBI ATMs in the city. The vehicle was assigned to a gunman and two guardians.
The accused run away with cash and a vehicle
After reaching one of the ATMs, the staff got down and went to load the ATM with Rs 68 lakh. Meanwhile, the accused driver fled with the vehicle and the rest. The staff immediately raised the alarm and contacted the police and alerted the other staff members and lodged a complaint against Prakash.
The swift action of the police
The Chilkalguda police immediately recruited a team of 28 police officers and worked on scanning 500 CCTVs in 36 hours. They tracked the movement and caught him on Tuesday.
