Video: False case filed against doctor in Warangal

A woman allegedly tried to implicate a doctor during a false case in Warangal on Wednesday. The Warangal Branch of Indian Medical Association (IMA) has condemned the incident stating that the girl and her relatives had tried to damage the name of the doctor by lodging a false case.

Dr. P Sudhir Kumar, an orthopedic doctor at the Balaji Hospital, Matwada, in Warangal, was examining Revaju Sandhya (25), who complained regarding lower back pain. Sandhya suddenly left the room leaving the doctor in shock. Meanwhile, a person who attended her picked up an argument with the doctor and defendant him of misbehaving with her. 2 others together with the woman’s husband Naresh entered the area and tried to make a ruction by shouting at and abusing the doctor. Later, she approached the Matwada police station alleging that the doctor had inappropriately touched her. Following this, an FIR was lodged against the doctor under section 354 (Assault or criminal force against the lady with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian penal code (IPC). However, Dr. Sudhir Kumar additionally visited the police station and lodged a complaint with them stating that he was attacked by a gaggle of individuals at his hospital. He additionally expressed that he had not misbehaved with the girl in any manner and asked the police to verify the CCTV footage at his hospital.

Following this, the police additionally filed an FIR under sections 385 (Putting person in concern of injury so as to commit extortion), 448 (Punishment for house-trespass), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation), as well as under the Andhra Pradesh Medical Protection Act.

When contacted, Matwada Inspector L Jeevan Reddy said that they’d booked 2 FIRs and are investigating the cases. “We have additionally examined the CCTV footage obtained from the hospital wherever we’ve not found any objectionable behavior on the part of the doctor. However, we are still inquiring the case. If the woman’s criticism is proved false, we are going to arrest the woman and others,” he added.
