A black eye is another name of Shiner describing bruise around the eye because of an injury to the face or the head. A collection of blood and other fluids in the space around the eye creates swelling and dark bruising in the tissue.
There are 3 main types of the black eye including:
- Shiner relates to the blood vessels
This type is most common in Asians especially in Vietnam, China, Korea … This black eye type often appears in the lower eyelid and may be light green or purple.
The black eye relating blood vessels is divided into two types: the light green of veins and purple of capillaries.
When the blood circulation of the locality is poor (due to sleeping late, insomnia, body fatigue)
-> hypoxia in blood vessels -> color of the skin around the eyes is more purple. In addition, some researchers believe that allergic rhinitis also leads to the swollen blood circulation area around the eyes and nose -> stagnant blood -> the darker shiner.
- Pigment black eye
This type of black eye has a variety of colors ranging from light brown to dark brown, black, gray. It appears in the lower eyelids and upper eyelids, or all area around the eyes. The pigment black eye is more common in Indians and Malaysians and is often inherited. This type is less common in Vietnamese people if it appears, it is the result of external factors such as medications, eczema, scratching, sunburn, etc.
- Black eye due to aging
Over time, the muscles around the eyes are aging, soaking and running down, fat around the eyes is reduced, pouches are puffy. After long time, they form the black eye.
How to treat a black eye at home:
- Use potato
Potatoes contain an enzyme called catecholase which can lighten the skin and reduce black eye.
How to use potatoes to treat the black eye: washing potatoes, and mashing by the blender. Then you put them on the cloth, roll back and apply on the eye area for about 15 to 20 minutes. You can also use thinly sliced potatoes to cover the black eye area.
- Use fresh milk
Fresh milk is known as a raw material that lightens the skin as well as helps to firm and smooth the skin. However, few people know that fresh milk combined with lemon juice will be an effective way to remove the black eye, and make the skin around the eyes bright, fresh and full of vitality.
How to do: Mix 20 ml of non-sugar fresh milk with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. You use a cotton swab dipped in a mixture of milk – lemon and then apply around the eyes (especially black eye areas), combined with massage gently to quickly get the best effect.
- Treat black eye by mint leaves
To remove quickly the puffy eyes and black eyes as panda eyes, you only need to perform treatment with mint leaves as follows:
Crush some mint leaves and put them onto the black eyes, which only takes 5 minutes a day to make. This method is suitable for those who have not much time in the morning.
In addition, it is very good to combine mashed mint leaves with a little honey (or olive oil) to apply on your face as a mask that will grow the effect of reducing the black eye and acne by the antibacterial benefit of honey.
- Apply coconut oil
Coconut oil not only helps you to quickly dissolve the obsession of hair loss, and to smooth your skin but also is an effective way to remove the black eye.
How to do: Wash your face and dry with a clean towel, dip a cotton swab into coconut oil and apply to black eye area. - Use green tea or tea-leaves
Green tea leaves contain tannin compound that helps to make the skin surface astringent, decrease puffiness under the eyes and a black eye, make the skin firmer. It is very simple to use green tea to treat the black eye, you can easily do it at home.
How to do: Put cold water and ice cubes into a small cup. Then add a half teaspoon of green tea powder and stir. Next, dip two pieces of makeup cotton into the mixture in the cup and then put cotton over the black eye area. After 10-15 minutes, clean with cold water, apply 1-2 times a week to achieve the desired effect.
- Treat black eye by aloe vera
Aloe vera helps to clear acne, brighten skin and remove sebum. The aloe vera is also a good material to cure the black eye and puffiness quickly.
How to do: washed aloe leaves are peeled, cut into thin slices. Next, cover these aloe slices in the black eye area, every night before sleeping for 10-20 minutes and then cleaning by water. Regularly apply 3-4 times to achieve the best effect.
